Jeremy
Jeremy and Jo have been married for more than 30 years. Jeremy’s family comes from Northamptonshire. Jeremy’s father was in the Royal Air Force, so Jeremy and his family travelled a lot as he was growing up. Jeremy spent time at schools in the Cameron Highlands of Malaysia, in Burma and the UK before joining the RAF himself. There he taught electrical engineering before he went on to open his own DIY shop in Farnsfield. To support his growing family, Jeremy set up and headed his successful own recruitment consultancy practice in central Nottingham.
Jeremy is a leading expert in the field of accountancy practice mergers and acquisitions, consolidation and the value of goodwill, which he now practices at APMA. APMA is also run from Grange Cottage. If you’d like to know more, check out his website: www.apma.co.uk
Jeremy is a keen horticulturist, so in his spare time he works on keeping Grange Cottage gardens beautiful for our guests!
Josephine/ Jo
Jo was born in London and moved to Nottinghamshire when she was seven years old. She was a housemother in a home for severely disturbed children, until she met and married Jeremy.
Since the birth of her two children (Serena and Lu) she has done a huge amount of charity work. She has given years as a Brown Owl (Brownies are similar to Scouts, but for girls), a Brownies and Girl Guides Commissioner, she ran the Tufty Club along with many other children’s activities. Now she is on a number of charity committees, which include Cancer research and raises funds annually for the children’s hospice fund Rainbows.
Now Jo runs Grange Cottage as traditional English bed and breakfast accommodation (B&B) for visitors to the area. Check out her site at www.grange-cottage.co.uk. This business has a growing international reputation and clientele. This is where guests of Stay & Study English will be staying.
