Guests may choose to do activities or to have free time (dependent on package options).

If you want to stay at home, you may choose to relax in your comfortable bedroom, in The Barn's living room, in the dining room or in the beautiful gardens at Grange Cottage.
A number of footpaths which lead through the countryside are close by Grange Cottage; these are safe and can be enjoyed by the young and old.
Or if you're more adventurous, why not go further a field?

Transportation
There are buses, coaches, taxis and trains running locally.
Buses run to the nearby market towns of Southwell (4 miles away), Newark (14 miles away) and the popular university city of Nottingham (15 miles away).

Coaches from Mansfield, Newark and Nottingham bus stations will take you where you want to go - all over Britain.
High speed trains run south from Newark to London (Saint Pancras Station) daily within just one hour and 20 minutes. Trains and buses also run to hundreds of other destinations both historic and modern.
The train stations nearest to Farnsfield are Fiskerton, Newark Castle and Newark Northgate.

Keeping in touch with home
Do you want to catch up with the news at home?
Farnsfield village has a local General Post Office and a public telephone box which guests may use to keep in touch with home.
Stay & Study English can provide an incoming-only facsimile service (so guests can receive faxes at home), limited internet access in the evenings and incoming 'phone calls by arrangement.
Keeping up to date with the world – current affairs
Britain has an excellent range of services and resources to keep you up to date with current affairs.
What was the difference between broadsheet and tabloid newspapers? Actually it was only the sizes which were different, but now higher quality and more intellectual content than tabloids, which have a reputation for sensationalist and celebrity articles.
